Adelaide's suburbs to the west are bound by Gulf St Vincent, giving us magnificent sunsets over the gulf. Adelaide beach-lovers have the option of living by the sea and yet be only 14 kilometres (9 miles) from the CBD (central business district).
How is this view from your front yard? Your own private pathway through the dunes to pristine beaches. There are a number of properties at Tennyson that have no road between their front door and the beach. The access road is to the rear of the property.

Even the kitchen is more shack than upmarket beach house. I really like that the owners have kept the style so relaxed. You would feel like you were permanently on holiday if you lived here.

And at the rear of the property, fronting onto Seaview Road is the garage, pool and veggie gardens in raised beds. But while the property is styled like a shack, given its metropolitan beachside location, the price is not indicative of shack prices. You would need a cool $2 million Aussie dollars to pick this place up.
